The DUP And The Windsor Agreement

The new deal between the EU and the British government must not further enshrine communal divisions at Stormont.

Protocol negotiations were initiated as a concession to the DUP over its denial of democracy. Both the EU and the Tories emboldened the DUP as it prioritised communal division at the expense of working-class people during the cost-of-living crisis.

Most people here accept the Protocol. People Before Profit opposes any further Protocol concessions to the DUP and opposes its use of the sectarian veto.

While Protocol negotiations took place, workers from across the communal divide united in their fight for fair pay, decent living standards, and investment in services. They must keep up the pressure, continue to strike, and continue to mobilise for real change.

A better future for working class people is possible, but it will require a break from the sectarian politics of the DUP and the Stormont establishment. That battle will be won on the picket lines, on the streets, and in our communities.
