There has been a worrying increase in transphobia recently.

Much of it is driven by the far right who are seeking to emulate the far right elsewhere who have used it as a wedge issue to drum up poisonous 'culture war’ discussions.

They have unfortunately been aided in this by sections of the media and the state, with the Gardaí even escorting them into libraries to harass staff.

Meanwhile the struggle for Trans people to access basic gender-affirming healthcare.

Now more than ever it is vital we stand with the Trans community. To this end, People Before Profit are supporting the Trans & Intersex Pride protest this Saturday. We encourage all our supporters to attend if possible.
