Poland eyes strengthening economic ties with Singapore
A delegation from the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs recently visited Singapore – world’s second-richest country in 2025 in terms of GDP per capita. A number of bilateral cooperation agreements’ signatures is said to likely follow in the coming weeks.

Digital economy, cybersecurity, transport and logistics, and defense – these areas were listed by the delegation members as ones with the highest potential for developing economic cooperation between Poland and Singapore.
Singapore is one of Asia’s „economic tigers”, quickly adopting the latest development trends. „This provides an opportunity for cooperation in the field of new technologies” – emphasised Poland’s Ambassador to Singapore, Tadeusz Chomicki, speaking for Polish Radio’s news agency IAR.
„After recent talks at the level of deputy digital affairs ministers, we agreed to start with cybersecurity. They see great potential for cooperation in this” – continued the Polish diplomat, who was previously responsible for Polish cyberdiplomacy at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Another area of developing cooperation is defense, although this is a new topic in Singapore-Poland relations. „Singapore possesses very modern technologies in some areas. It knows that Poland has a large manufacturing base. It wants to enter Europe and cooperate on a partnership basis” – Tadeusz Chomicki added.
A document regarding Polish-Singaporean cooperation in underwater drone technology is expected to be signed soon as the first – but not the last – bilateral partnership coming up in this domain.
In recent years, Singapore’s largest investments in Poland include cooperation with the Port of Gdańsk – which the Singaporeans want to turn into one of Europe’s most important logistics hubs by the end of this decade.
