Polish president invited by Trump to join ‘Board of Peace,’ aide says

Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki has been invited by US President Donald Trump to join a proposed „Board of Peace,” a Polish presidential aide said on Monday.

„President Nawrocki has received an invitation from President Trump to be part of this board,” Marcin Przydacz, the Polish president’s foreign policy adviser, told reporters.

He said the invitation reflected recognition of Poland’s role on the international stage.

The proposed body would be chaired for life by Trump and would initially focus on the conflict in Gaza before expanding its remit to other international disputes, the Reuters news agency reported.

It said Trump has invited about 60 countries to join the initiative, with permanent membership available to those that pay USD 1 billion.
