While in the country, Smith also met former Polish president Lech Wałęsa, took part in a charity gala, and witnessed Warsaw’s whimsical Mermaid Parade. His itinerary included a stop in the Silesian region in the south, where he was captivated by local folk rhythms.
During his visit, the University of Silesia’s Song and Dance Ensemble prepared a special rendition of the iconic Men in Black theme – originally performed by Smith himself – for the occasion. According to local reports, the group had spent two weeks rehearsing for the performance.
Smith also shared a video on social media highlighting the Polish edition of his 2021 memoir Will, noting it was the first time he had signed a Polish copy. Leafing through the book, he expressed curiosity and amusement at the sound of Polish words.
