There were around 917,200 people without jobs across the nation at the end of May, down by 17,100 from a month earlier, according to the government.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had fallen to 6 percent in April, from 6.1 percent in March.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated this month that unemployment in Poland had stood at 3 percent in April, marking the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation bloc.
