A planned reshuffle of Poland’s government will take place during the next session of parliament, scheduled for July 22–25, government spokesman Adam Szłapka told Polskie Radio 24 on Monday.

Szłapka explained that the cabinet changes were initially planned for an earlier date but were postponed at the request of Szymon Hołownia, the speaker of parliament. “He had asked for the reshuffle to be moved. You’d have to ask him directly – perhaps it was for personal reasons,” Szłapka said.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has indicated that the coalition partner Poland 2050 will not be offered a deputy prime minister position as part of the reshuffle.

“Midway through the term is a time to take stock – what has worked and what needs improvement. We are planning both structural and personnel changes,” Szłapka added.

The next session, which begins on July 22 at 10:00 a.m., will be the last meeting of the Sejm, Poland’s lower house of parliament, before the August recess.
