Despite the brutal attacks on civilians carried out by Russia, Zelensky stressed he is committed to seeking peace and saving lives using diplomatic measures.

His comments came a day after at least 57 people were killed in a missile strike on a train station in the city of Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine, according to the latest numbers provided by Kramatorsk mayor Oleksander Honcharenko, the Polish Radio News Agency IAR has reported.

President Zelensky said in the interview that „No one wants to negotiate with a person or people who tortured this nation. But we don’t want to lose opportunities, if we have them, for a diplomatic solution.”

In the interview, the Ukrainian head of state urged the West to impose a complete ban on Russian energy imports and appealed to Western leaders provide Ukraine with more weapons.
