Stephen Fahey: @PubsOfDublin

With a total of 751 pubs across Dublin even the most avid fan of the pint would be hard pushed to get to them all. If you visited a new pub every single day it would take two years to work your way through the lot. And if you only went out once a week then you’d need over 14 years. However @PubsOfDublin launched today and aims to eventually bring you, at least in spirit, (all puns intended) to each and every one of them!

Log on now and follow us for upcoming information and recommendations. From tourists and foreign nationals looking to find great and friendly places to wet their whistles, to Irish and hardened Dubliners looking to discover more of than just the familiar, we will bring you to the gems and snugs of Dublin. No one person knows them all, but we will. As we grow we’ll provide information on the best pints, award winning establishments, happy hours, great cocktails, gigs and events, the best food and the real craic of Ireland’s most famous and sacred of public spaces.

Tell us which pubs you’d most like to see featured and we’ll make our way to them to give you the real story on what they’re actually like. From the regulars to the atmosphere, to how clean the glasses are, we’ll give you the honest truth. And we’ll host fun games and promotions through @PubsOfDublin along the way, to help support the pub industry itself. So if you’re a publican or if you work in a Dublin pub, tell us what’s special about you and we’ll share your story.

As the beloved centres of communities throughout Dublin, no pub is too big or too small, so join us on this, our inaugural week, of what’s sure be a fun and enlightening adventure. Don’t be shy, name your favourites! Get your friends to vote for your favourites too! Tell us where the best pint is and which pub has the best staff! And tell us your stories so we can share them with everyone. Whether you’re in China or Canada or Cork or Clanbrassil Street, follow us and send us your requests and your suggestions and see your favourite pubs @PubsOfDublin. We look forward to hearing from you all as we share our love of the heart and soul of Irish society with you and the whole world. See you soon! Sláinte!

Stephen Fahey
