A century on from the treaty, a new and united Ireland is within sight – Mary Lou McDonald TD

Marking the centenary of the signing of the treaty, Uachtarán Shinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald has said „a new and United Ireland is within sight” and that we will „see the ending of partition and the unification of all of our people, in our time”.

The Dublin Central TD said;

„The treaty brought about the British government’s disastrous partition of Ireland. It was forced upon Ireland under the British threat of an immediate and terrible war.”

Sinn Féin Minister Deirdre Hargey announces 100,000 houses to be built

Sinn Féin Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has launched a plan to build 100,000 homes over the next 15 years.

Speaking at the announcement, Teachta Hargey said;

„This will deliver high-quality, social and affordable homes in record breaking numbers for workers and families across the north. Everyone should have access to a stable and secure home.”

Tory government in Westminster „doesn’t give a damn about Ireland” – Pearse Doherty TD

Sinn Féin TD for Donegal and Party spokesperson on Finance Pearse Doherty told the Tánaiste this week that the Tory Government „doesn’t give a damn about Ireland”.

The British government’s intention to introduce a requirement for travel clearance for EU citizens, who are not Irish citizens, to cross the border in Ireland is disgraceful and shameful and undermines the Good Friday Agreement and the Common Travel Area.

Crisis in Dublin Fire Brigade must be tackled – Paul Donnelly TD

Sinn Féin TD for Dublin West, Paul Donnelly, has this week brought forward a motion to the Dáil to provide urgent support to the Dublin Fire Brigade.

The motion calls on the government to act urgently to end staffing shortages and lack of equipment to ensure the Fire Brigade can operate safely.

Michelle O’Neill leads Ministerial Delegation to Derry

Sinn Féin Joint-First Minister Michelle O’Neill led a full Ministerial delegation to Derry earlier this week, with a focus on creating jobs, building homes, improving mental health services and delivering for Derry.

Local MLAs Pádraig Delargy and Ciara Ferguson joined the delegation on their visit.
