Poland among 4 EU states most resilient to epidemic in 2020: Commission
The EU’s executive has said it expects the Polish economy to shrink 3.6 percent this year amid a coronavirus pandemic, with only three other countries in the bloc performing better.

The European Commission predicts that only Lithuania, Ireland and Sweden will see a smaller contraction in GDP in 2020.
The Commission said in its latest forecast that it expects the Polish economy to rebound in 2021, expanding by 3.3 percent.
Poland on Thursday reported a record 27,143 new coronavirus infections, the highest daily figure since the epidemic hit the country in March.
The government has announced a swathe of new restrictions aiming to curb the virus.
