Leaders offer glimpse of ambitious ‘Polish New Deal’

Poland’s ruling conservative Law and Justice party has revealed some of the aims of an ambitious „Polish New Deal” that aims to boost the economy after the pandemic and improve life for citizens.

On Saturday, Law and Justice made public a video giving a glimpse into its plans.

The „Polish New Deal” is to focus on areas including public health services, decent wages, fair development, the wellbeing of families, agriculture, education, clean energy and clean air.

Other priorities will be cyber security, help for senior citizens, and creating a positive business climate for companies.

Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński says in the video: „We’re already thinking about the future, which is why we have prepared a comprehensive programme that will allow Poland to develop even faster, and provide Poles with well-paid jobs.”

The wide-ranging programme is to be unveiled in full at a party convention on March 20.

Officials have previously said the initiative will see a number of „very big changes,” and that it will be comparable to flagship projects launched by the Law and Justice party in recent years.
