US President Donald Trump is expected to deliver a public address on September 2, Polish presidential aide Paweł Mucha said on Tuesday ahead of Trump’s planned visit to Poland later this month.

Mucha added that Trump would speak at a NATO base in Poland where US troops were stationed.

On Monday, Trump retweeted a post by the US embassy in Poland which quoted Ambassador Georgette Mosbacher as saying that “Poland meets its 2% of GDP spending obligation towards NATO. Germany does not. We would welcome American troops in Germany to come to Poland.”

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are scheduled to travel to Poland on a visit from August 31 to September 2.

The US presidential couple “will attend commemorative ceremonies and visit memorial sites in Warsaw on September 1, 2019, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of World War II,” the White House press secretary said in a statement at the end of last month.

Trump last month told reporters that he would visit Poland following an invitation from Warsaw.

Trump’s trip to Poland will mark his second visit to the country as president.
