Meanwhile, average wages in Poland’s corporate sector in September increased by 5.6 percent compared with the same month last year, the state-run statistics agency reported.

The average gross Polish monthly wage last month was PLN 5,371.56 (EUR 1,180, USD 1,385), according to the statistical office.

The figures are for companies with more than nine employees.

The Polish labour minister said earlier this year that some 6 million jobs had been saved around the country thanks to measures including a massive relief and stimulus package that aims to shield the economy from the coronavirus.

Poland’s labour ministry has estimated that the country’s unemployment rate was 6.1 percent in September, unchanged from the previous three months.
