‘China and Russia have trustful relations’

Asked about Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s assertion that Moscow and Beijing would draw closer to each other amid the war in Ukraine, Qin Gang replied: “China and Russia have trustful relations, built over many years,” tvp.info reported.

He said, as quoted by tvp.info: “On the second day of Russia’s military operation, President XI Jinping did talk to President Putin, asking President Putin to think about resuming peace talks with Ukraine, and President Putin listened to it and we have seen four rounds of peace talks.”

The Chinese ambassador also told the US broadcaster: “China has normal trade, economic, financial, energy cooperation with Russia.”

He added: “This is normal business between two sovereign countries,” tvp.info reported.
