Assembly election results

As this week’s digest was being prepared some partial tallies from the Assembly elections were beginning to come through with Sinn Féin polling strongly in many areas.  Keep an eye on Sinn Féin’s social media pages for the most up to date results, analysis and reaction.

Annual Wolfetone Commemoration

The annual Wolfe Tone Commemoration at Bodenstown will take place on Sunday 19th of June, assembling at 2:30pm in Sallins.

This is the first time in three years that republicans have been able to gather to remember the founding father of Irish Republicanism and all areas are asked to begin making plans to mobilise for this year’s commemoration.

National Maternity Hospital land should be gifted to the State

Speaking in the Dáil this week Mary Lou McDonald said the land of the National Maternity Hospital should be gifted to the State so we have a first-class centre of excellence for women that is publicly built and on public land.

Sinn Féin Dáil motion to alleviate rental crisis

Sinn Féin used its Private Members’ Time in the Dáil this week to bring forward proposals to alleviate the rental crisis.

Speaking ahead of the debate Eoin Ó Broin said the crisis in the private rental sector is getting worse and the government is doing nothing to help renters.

Fianna Fáil voting down housing developments out of snobbery

Sinn Féin’s Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire, speaking in the Dáil this week, accused Fianna Fáil Councillors of voting down social housing projects out of snobbery.

Sinn Féin wants to build an all-island National Health Service

Speaking in Derry this week David Cullinane said Sinn Féin wants to build an all-island National Health Service with first class services to ensure people get the care they need quickly.
